1960s Uhura re-learns English after having her mind wiped whilst teaching Nomad about singing.
Meanwhile 2022 Uhura puts her language expertise to the test on her very first mission.
This week we are revisiting The Changeling from The Original Series, through the fresh eyes of Strange New Worlds Episode 2 - Children of the Comet.
We introduce our 2017 episode on The Changeling by making links to the Uhura-centric Children of the Comet and comparing the portrayals of her character. We also draw on classic TOS episode The Paradise Syndrome - which deals with another comet heading for a planet and the unlocking of alien technology through music.
